When you cultivate a positive attitude, you are bringing life into your day. Here are some positive thinking tips for bringing positivity into your life and environment.
To cultivate comes from a 17th century Latin word that means to ‘prepare for crops’. Cultivate the land. The land is your brain. It is really your brain that you are cultivating here.
But why?.. We all know we should have a positive attitude, but why have a positive attitude at all? It’s the same exact reason why land should be cultivated. It’s so you as a person can produce crops — crops of the mind.
It’s so you can bring life, ideas, energy, goodness, hope, healing, success, value. It’s so you can be a life-giving person that exudes love. Or to put it more practically, it’s so you can be more productive. These are the things a positive attitude brings.

6 Ways to Cultivate a Positive Attitude
Feed your brain positivity
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “garbage in garbage out”. The opposite is true. What you feed your brain becomes what you are. Positive material in, positivity out. Find a good quote or listen to an encouraging podcast or friend.
Say something positive
When you speak out positivity you are doing something you have complete control over (speech). Naturally your words will begin to align with everything else.
Bless others
This is giving away happiness. You are producing instant overflow of joy from your life. This is pure postivity.
Look at the bright side
Every single situation has within it dark sides and bright sides. Uncover the bright side by asking yourself, “What does this situation make possible?” Thanks to Michael Hyatt for this question.
Be grateful
Have and attitude of gratitude. You have so much that you never earned. These are the things that you can be grateful for. Feeling down? Be grateful that you have a hand. Literally. Also developing a habit of keeping a gratitude list is very helpful.
Flex your face: Smile
Smiling is one of the most under-rated things when it comes to a positive attitude. Did you know it is impossible to be depressed when you smile? Studies show that doing this for 20 minutes will cure chronic depression.
